5th Annual Buffalo Fatherhood Initiative Conference: Healing Invisible Wounds

The curation of this event will aid in addressing the stigmas around mental health pertaining to males of color and black men and boys while peeling back the layers of the emotional pain and trauma this population tends to pretend doesn’t exist, tucks away, and bury hoping they simply disappear. Over the course of two days, participates will learn through plenaries, workshops and engage in healthy dialogue to identify their invisible wounds and learn coping strategies for healing and connect with other men in community to build a supportive mental health network to deal with issues such as depression, anxiety, suicide, as well as the often-suppressed emotional pain and unresolved anger caused by father absence.
